After taking 2015 off, it looks like Local Love will be returning in 2016 just in time to usher in the new year.
The local variety festival, normally held every summer at The North Star Room in Mounds View, has been one the biggest yearly events for local music in Minnesota. Unfortunately however, with The North Star Room temporarily shut down, 2015 went by without. Josh Meyers of See The Rise announced today via facebook that the event will in fact be returning in 2016.
While the festival is making it’s long awaited comeback, things are a little different this time around. It’s being held January 30th, making it one of the first big local shows of the new year for Minnesota. Also, instead of The North Star Room, it will be held at the Wesley Event Center in Minneapolis. The whole event is being organized by North Summit Church, based out of Mounds View.
Among the acts to be featured at Local Love 2016 are Zealot, ChugChugWob, From Concept to Chronicle, Wanderer, Weathered, Remo Drive, and much much more. You can RSVP to the event via facebook here.
