That’s Baby Stuff

Coming up this month, Rockford, IL is having the first ever That’s Baby Stuff fest. Happening August 19th and 20th at the Mendelssohn Performing Arts Center downtown. The fest highlights Midwestern artists, mostly from Rockford and Chicago, IL with some special far away guests including Hikes (Austin, TX) and Invalids (Princeton, NJ).

Chicago favorites: The Island of Misfit Toys, Lume, and Monobody are playing the first night of the fest. That same night Churchkey will be playing their final show, so Chicago fans should make the drive to see them one last time.  This event is also serving as a reunion for much loved Northern IL bands Half Milk, Roanoke, and Sleeping Habits. Other midwest bands playing night one include House Olympics (Bloomington, IN) and Arizona Landmine (Ames, IA).

Night two includes Emo legend Victor Villareal of Cap’n Jazz, Owls and Joan of Arc. Great Dane (Cincinnati, OH), Staghorn (St. Louis, MO) and Ghost of a Dead Hummingbird (Chicago, IL) will also be playing. Closing out That’s Baby Stuff are hometown heroes Joie De Vivre. Expected are endless requests for Upper Deck San Diego and groans from the band as a whole at it (sometimes they give in, but you’ll have to go to find out).

The event is being hosted by Seb Alvarez of Tweak, Split Tongue, and Other Masquerades. The full line up, ticket info, and more information can be found on the That’s Baby Stuff Facebook event page.
